Guidelines for Authors of Բանբեր Մատենադարանի (Bulletin of Matenadaran)

1. The article and summuries should be preceded by 8-10 key-words, following the title.

2. Two summaires sould follow the article: in English (French, German) and Russian (100-300 words). Non-Armenian articles should have summaries in Armenian and a third language. The summaries should be preceded by the title and author’s name, without «Ամ­փո­փում», “Резюме”, “Summary” and similar notes.

3. The Armenian font is “AMM MairTcutcak” (unicode). The Roman and Cyrillic font is “Times New Roman.” The characters of the main text in Armenian should be italic, 12 points (in case of Roman and Cyrillic text it shoud be non-italic), the text in the footnotes should be non-italic, 10 points.

4. The Roman transliteration of Armenian proper names and terms should be according to the Library of Congress Romanization Table:

5. The references in footnotes should be formed according to the following internationally accepted standard:

            a. The titles of books and periodicals should be italic.

            b. The titles of artilces (and chapters) should be non-italic, in quotation marks.

            c. The titles of books series should be in parentheses, non-italic; they shoud precede the place of publication.

            d. The reference data should be divided by comas.

            e. If a reference is repeated, only the author’s name and the title (in an abridged, but recognizable form, if too long) should be mentioned.

            f. If a reference immediately follows a similar one, «Նույն տեղում» (ibidem) and the page number (if changed) should be written. If references to works of the same author follow each other, «նույնի» (idem) and the reference data should be mentioned.

            g. Following the tradition of our periodical, we have added the following demands: the author’s name shoud be bold, the names of editors, compilers and translators should be bold+ italic.

6. Abbreviations should be created for sources often referred to, and their list should be presented at the end of the article.

7. The Armenian manuscripts kept in the major collections should be referred to as follows:

ՄՄ 1746 (Մաշտոցի անվան Մատենադարան) – M1746 (Mashtotts Matenadaran).

Եղմ. 1903 (Երուսաղեմի Սուրբ Հակոբյանց վանք) – J1903 (Jerusalem, Saint James Monastery).

Վնտկ. 456 (Վենետիկի Մխիթարյան միաբանություն) – V456 (Venice, Mekhitharist library).

Վիեն. 2159 (Վիեննայի Մխիթարյան միաբանություն) – W2159 (Vienna, Mechitharistenbibliothek).

Փրզ. 58 (Փարիզ, Ֆրանսիայի Ազգային գրադարան) – P58 (Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale de France).
